Angers, royal city known for its gentle way of life is home to architectural treasures of great beauty: its 13th century fortified castle with its 18 towers, its episcopal palace whose construction began in the 12th century and its half-timbered House of Adam dating from the medieval period, its Jean Lurçat museum and its tapestries ... To the South East of the city, the 12th century Abbey of Fontevraud, the largest monastic city inherited from the Middle Ages.
A curiosity not to be missed in the region with the highest castle in France is 16th century Brissac and the 15th century castle of Plessis-Bourré with its original facade enthroned majestically on its moat. Also nearby are the Château de Serrant in Saint-Georges-sur Loire, as well as the Trades and Slate Museums and the unique European site of the Blue Mine (126 meters underground) in Noyant-la- Gravoyère.
At the turn of the vineyards near Montjean-sur-Loire, you will discover the villages on the majestic banks of the Loire, such as Rochefort-sur-Loire or the Angevine Corniche of Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné or Montjean-sur-Loire ... by boat, on foot or by bike by taking the many hiking trails.
